Couples Wills & Enduring Powers of Attorney

Creating wills doesn’t need to be complicated. Our couples’ wills service is designed for partners who want clear, straightforward documents prepared efficiently, with an in-person signing meeting for peace of mind. This service is suitable for couples both with and without children, provided the family situation is straightforward.

What’s included:

Two standard wills (one for each partner), two Enduring Powers of Attorney for Property, two Enduring Powers of Attorney for Personal Care & Welfare, draft documents prepared for your review, and one in-person meeting to discuss and sign everything.

Fixed Fee: $1,250 (including GST and all disbursements)

Is this service right for you?

This service is suitable if you are preparing wills together as a de facto or married couple, whether or not you have children, you both live in New Zealand, your circumstances are straightforward, and you do not require trusts or have blended family arrangements. This is a fixed-scope, fixed-fee process. If your circumstances fall outside this scope, we can discuss tailored options.

What’s not included:

Trust advice or trust-based wills, blended family structures, overseas assets, tax, asset protection or business-structuring advice, and relationship property or contracting-out agreement advice. If we identify anything outside scope after reviewing your information, we will discuss options before proceeding.

How it works:

Step 1 – Complete the short enquiry form below to confirm suitability and agree to the fixed fee.

Step 2 – We send you a secure follow-up form to gather the information required to prepare your documents. This is where you can provide details about any children you have.

Step 3 – Once we have your full information, we prepare your draft wills and EPAs and email them to you. You will have the opportunity to review the drafts and tell us if anything needs to be changed or clarified.

Step 4 – We meet with you in person to review the documents, provide legal advice, and arrange signing.

Important engagement information:

By submitting the enquiry form, you acknowledge that any engagement is subject to our Terms of Engagement, which will be provided before we begin acting for you. We may decline to accept or continue an engagement if we believe we cannot meet our professional duties, including our obligations under the Rules of Conduct and Client Care for Lawyers (RCCC). This Stage One enquiry does not create a lawyer–client relationship. Legal advice is provided at your review and signing meeting, not at the enquiry stage.
