Experience:

Nyssa joined MACTODD in 2008 after graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Geography).  She was admitted to the bar in August 2009.

Nyssa practises in the litigation areas of criminal and family law, along with employment law.  She graduated top of her Family Law class in 2008 and has an interest in the areas of adoption and surrogacy.  Nyssa also has a strong interest in criminal law; particularly in sentencing.

Nyssa is an accomplished gymnast and is a coach of the Queenstown Gymnastic Club’s competitive squad.  She is a qualified women’s Artistic judge and attends competitions in this role, throughout the South Island.  She also hopes to become a qualified Tramoline judge this year.  Nyssa has also recently been elected as Chairperson of the Queenstown Gymnastics Club.

Nyssa recently competed at the 2010 New Zealand Master's Games in gymnastics, winning gold in the individual all-round competition of her section and a bronze in the teams section.

She also volunteered at the 2009 New Zealand Winter Games and has recently completed a further gymnastics coaching course.  In future Nyssa hopes to attend the New Zealand National Championships as an official, either in a coaching or judging role.
