Experience:
Maxine joined MACTODD in December 2005 and is based in the Cromwell office but regularly visits Wanaka to service clients in the Upper Clutha.
After graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws in 1988 Maxine joined an Invercargill firm as a staff solicitor. In 1993 she opened a practice in partnership with a colleague, which continued until she relocated to Cromwell in 2005.
In the post graduation years Maxine’s work centred on all aspects of litigation including Family Court, Criminal Court encompassing jury trials in both the District and High Courts, appearances in the Court of Appeal and employment litigation.
In latter years Maxine’s focus has moved to property matters including general conveyancing, relationship property, family trusts, estate planning and administration.
Since taking up her role in Cromwell, she has operated as a general practitioner providing services to Central Otago clients in all aspects of law, in particular property law, general conveyancing, employment, Family Court and Criminal Court.
After 20 years in practice Maxine is well qualified to assist with a diverse range of inquiries regardless of the area of law it concerns. She is well assisted with full access to all partners, staff and legal resources in Mactodd’s Queenstown office.
Maxine was appointed as an Adjudicator for the Tenancy Tribunal in 1993, a position she still holds today, now sitting at the Queenstown District Court.
She enjoys making a positive contribution to the local community and is currently on the Cromwell College Board of Trustees. She is fully involved with her children’s sporting clubs including squash and junior rugby.
Maxine’s personal interests centre on family activities with her husband Oscar and children, Rosannah and Isaac as well as spending time with friends and enjoying the Central Otago environment. Education:
