Jayne became MACTODD'S first woman partner in 2002 and with her vast resource management expertise she leads an extremely experienced and talented RMA Team.

She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws in 1993 and began her career with the prominent land development and surveying company, Clark Fortune McDonald & Associates, based in Queenstown.

Jayne’s role involved consulting on survey, resource management and land development issues and the experience she gained provided her with the skills, when she joined MACTODD in 1996, to help direct the office’s Resource Management Law team.

Her primary focus has been as an expert adviser, in resource management and local government issues, to both the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago District Councils. Jayne’s experience takes in district, regional and private plan change analysis and submissions as well as tourism related resource management. She regularly appears before the Environment Court and has conducted appeal cases before the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

Jayne has also developed a significant commercial practice and acts for major property developers and business enterprises. Her work in this area centres on urban and rural land transactions and company transactions, leasing and licensing, business acquisitions and franchising. In the general practice area she undertakes residential and commercial conveyancing and estates and estate planning.

Jayne is a trustee on the Queenstown Primary School Board of Trustees. She is a keen golfer, skier and gardener and enjoys activities with her young family.
