Clark's focus is largely in the commercial property area where he acts for commercial property and business owners, purchasers and property developers undertaking significant and often complex transactions. These include the sale and purchase of hotels and large development and commercial sites.
Clark’s commercial clients have property portfolios across the South Island. Clark also has a growing client base of overseas clients and is recognised for his extensive experience with Overseas Investment Office applications and other legislation affecting offshore investors.
In addition to his commercial practice, Clark specialises in residential and rural conveyancing, financing, family trusts and estate planning, relationship property agreements, wills, leases, business structures and succession, subdivisions, unit titles and all aspects of property law.
Complimenting his international represenative Clay Target shooting career, Clark also provides advice and guidance to local, regional and national sporting entities and has appeared in the New Zealand Sports Tribunal.
Clark was brought up on a Southland farming property and retains strong links with the sixth generation family venture as a director and trustee. He graduated from Otago University in 1994 and gained his general practice experience working for a Dunedin firm before taking up a two year locum role in London. He returned to NZ joining MACTODD in 2002, becoming a partner in 2004.
Clark is Chair of Queenstown Sky City Casino Trust, Vice President of the Wakatipu Clay Target Club, Secretary of the Central Otago Clay Target Association and committee member of the Queenstown Cricket Club.
He has a varied sporting background and as a top level clay target shooter has represented New Zealand at Championship events throughout the world. He plays cricket, squash and golf and is enthusiastic about making the most of the outstanding surroundings that the Southern Lakes region offers.
